Acantus is an Italian early music vocal/instrumental ensemble. On their debut CD, Acantus (1999), they approache medieval Italian sacred music of 14th-15th century from the angle of common Italian folk music rather than of the erudite plainchant and polyphony preserved in most medieval sources.
