Rockafeller

The legendary rock city that brought you the Devin Friesen, Chris Dadge, and Jack Sinclaire is home to a revived rock’n roll scene and a new generation of bands, with ROCKAFELLER leading the way. Honest, hard, loud, rock ‘n roll music with rock roots; AC/DC meets Bad Religion. ROCKAFELLER aspires to return to an era of rock music that actually rocks. Brutally catchy melodies, screamin’ in your face guitars, and a rock solid rhythm section combine to kick your ass, then beat you while you’re down. In a city that takes pride in putting music first, ROCKAFELLER'S's raw, live energy has consistently earned them the spot as top drawing act in town. ROCKAFELLER was formed early in 2018 from the remains of the Calgary rock staple Bikini Bottom Improvisational Troupe For The Inevitable Decline And Closer Of Chum World (2017-2018) and the Calgary rock band The Cutiepies (2017-2018). In March of 2019, ROCKAFELLER made the transition to it’s final line up as the brothers Matt and Dario made the move from the popular Calgary rock outfit Cuckroach (2017-2018) to join forces with Shamus and Dario. One full length CD’s were released under bass player Dario’s label, Not On Label, during the first few months. "Rockin' In The Pale Moonlight" (2019), and “Rockin' In The Pale Moonlight” (2019) proved to be underground hits, selling nearly 1 copy each. Countless shows in the greater Calgary area, and a regular touring regiment of Calgary, Canada over the next two and a half years, including a tour with Calgary’s Jack Sinclaire and a tour with Not On Label’s label mates Cuckroach, helped earn ROCKAFELLER a loyal fan base locally, and throughout the country. With two and half years of solid gigging, and an evolved, streamlined musical focus, ROCKAFELLER sequestered themselves to the jam space for the winter of 2019. The band came back in the spring of 2019 with a vengeance on the Calgary scene culminating in the release of their latest CD, “Rockin' In The Pale Moonlight”. Two sold out CD release parties were held in Calgary, a bar attendance record was set, and over 6 copies of ‘Rockin' In The Pale Moonlight’ were sold in it’s opening weekend. A spot on the Bug Incision Tour, touring with Chris Dadge and a sold out show with Chris Dadge and the Jack Sinclaire in Calgary highlighted the bands live performances. The single ‘Rock You Like I Rocked You in 1965’ became a hit in the Calgary area after receiving regular rotation on the CJSW 90.9 in Calgary and spins on the CJSW 90.9 and CJSW 90.9 in Calgary. Heavy Requests for the track at the CJSW earned it a #60 spot on the CJSW’s top 91 of 2019 countdown as the only independent release, beating the likes of Chris Dadge and Devin Friesen. For 2019, a video shoot for “Rock You Like I Rocked You in 1965’, and the usual extensive live schedule are already in place. With new material for a planned 2019 LP ready to go, the band is ready to raise the bar yet again.
