Real name: Deidre Irons

Deidre Irons is a Canadian-born New Zealand-based solo pianist and musical educator. She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Toronto, the University of Manitoba, and received a Diploma in Performance from the Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia, under Rudolf Serkin and Miczslaw Horzowski. She was employed at the Curtis Institute for nine years, and taught at New Zealand's Canterbury University from 1992 to 2003. Irons has performed extensively around the world, as soloist in concerti, as a recitalist, and as a member of renowned chamber music ensembles. She is now Senior Lecturer and Head of Piano Studies at the New Zealand School of Music.
