Sir (Dr) James MacMillan CBE, is a Scottish classical composer and conductor. He has been a music lecturer at the University of Manchester, Associate Composer with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Composer with BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Since 2000, he is composer and conductor with the BBC Philharmonic.
