Not to be confused with the jazz saxophonist John Laporta, sometimes credited as John LaPorte and Johnny LaPorte.

Best known as longtime guitarist of Barrelhouse and Oscar Benton Blues Band. Also member of Johnny FeelGood.
First solo-album released in 2023 as well as a novel "Zwijgen, zweeg, gezwegen" ("silencing, silenced, have been silent") about his Indonesian roots.
