Vasyl Shklyar (born June 10, 1951, in the village of Ganzhalivka, Lysyansky District, Cherkasy Oblast) is a Ukrainian writer and politician. One of the most famous and most widely read contemporary Ukrainian writers. Some literary critics call him "the father of the Ukrainian bestseller." Shklyar's works have been translated into English, Bulgarian, Armenian, Swedish, Slovak, Russian, etc.
