Piero Vivarelli

Italian film director, screenwriter (Siena, Feb. 26, 1927, † Rome, Sept. 7, 2010), also a very prolific songwriter. He has directed many films using Donald Murray as pseudonym. In 1960 created the radio show La Coppa del Jazz and led for a long time Hit Parade, the ranking of best record sellers. Among his films Rita, La Figlia Americana with Rita Pavone and Rokes ('67), Il Dio Serpente with Nadia Cassini ('70) The Black Decameron, the most recent was La Rumbera ('98), the story of a Cuban dancer. He has been married with Jamaican actress, singer, TV presenter Beryl Cunningham and was the father of Italian DJ and remixer Oliviero Vivarelli.
