Nikolai Miklukho-Maclay (5 (17) July 1846, Yazykovo-Rozhdestvenskoe, Novgorod province - 2 (14) April 1888, St. Petersburg) - Russian ethnographer, anthropologist, biologist and traveler who studied the indigenous population of Southeast Asia, Australia and Oceania, including the Papuans of the northeastern coast of New Guinea, called the Maclay Coast.
