Real name: Clarence Henry Bassett III

American singer. Born in Jamaica in Queens, New York, March 13, 1936.

Formed Shep & The Limelites with James Sheppard (2) in 1960. The band disbanded in 1966. After that Bassett had a brief stint with Flamingos in the late 60s and then sang in Creative Funk during the early 70s.

He died at his home in Richmond, Virginia on January 25th, 2005, aged 68, from complications of emphysema.
