Chucho Martínez Gil stood out with great success and recognition in two main branches: as a composer and as a singer. He was born on December 19, 1917 in Puebla, Mexico. He died on May 22, 1988. Son of Felipe Bojalil and Carmen Gil de Bojalil. Father of Jesus Bojalil Gil.

He resided in Misantla and Jalapa, Veracruz, during his childhood. Later he lived in Cuba and Puerto Rico, also in Canada and on different occasions in the United States of America.

The work with which he obtained greater satisfactions was "Dos Arbolitos", since it has been recorded in different countries by very famous artists, even today. Some songs he composed were in collaboration with the Hermanos Martínez Gil.
