John Pearse (spelled 'John Pearce' on the 1960 album "Rap-A-Tap-Tap") taught a generation of British folk and blues enthusiasts how to play the guitar with his 1967 BBC2 TV series Hold Down A Chord - Folk Guitar For Beginners and tutorial books and records. Taught guitar for English Folk Dance And Song Society at Cecil Sharp House. Taught Martin Carthy. Also the name behind a famous brand of strings for a range musical instruments.
