Popular-song compositions include "Hot Lips", "Where Are You?", "I'm Sitting Pretty in a Pretty Little City", "While We Danced Till Dawn", "Put Your Arms Where They Belong", "Love Tale of Alsace Lorraine", "A Precious Little Thing Called Love", "Once Upon a Time", "When the World Is at Rest", Moonlight Madness", and "My Little Dream Boat". As a lyricist, he collaborated with Abel Baer, Henry Busse, Harold Arlen, Henry Lange, and J. Fred Coots.
