David El Gnomo (known in English as David The Gnome) is a fictional character, created by Dutch artist Rien Poortvliet and writer Wil Huygen. In the 1980s, two cartoon series were based on their books about the life of gnomes. David was the titular character and main antagonist of the first series, The World Of The Gnomes (originally titled: David, El Gnomo), voiced by José María Cordero in the original Spanish dub and by Carlos Petrel in the Latin American dub. David was replaced by his nephew Klaus in the second series, The Wisdom Of The Gnomes (La Llamada De Los Gnomos).
