Melany Yelle-Nikischer (born September 28, 1997), known by her stage name Melotika, is a Canadian artist, singer-songwriter, performer, sound designer, producer, executive producer and owner of her independent record label Rebel Yelle. Born and raised in the suburbs outside of Montreal, Melany later moved to Toronto to become a professional recording artist and songwriter, despite having little formal musical experience. Melotika is known for pioneering a new genre that she calls New Retro Pop while exploring Dance Pop and Electropop. Melotika is known for having a distinctive lower register (Alto/Mezzo-soprano). She is recognized for her ability to skillfully manipulate her powerhouse voice to fit the unique characteristics of her songs creating her own sound.
