Spanish pop artist Melodía Ruiz Gutiérrez (b. October 18, 1990 in Dos Hermanas, Sevilla), better known as Melody. Daughter of Lorenzo Ruíz.
She's a Spanish singer of pop genre with elements of flamenco. In 2001, she released her first album debut De Pata Negra getting double-platinum and latin platinum disc in Spain and U.S.A. respectively. Her first single El Baile Del Gorila (¡Uh, Uh Mixes!) became the summer song which was positioned 1st nine times in Spain, four 1st in Argentina, 2nd in USA and 7th in France. Her popularity led her to be nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Album for Children in 2002.
In 2009 was presented to the preselection to represent Spain in the show of eurovision, Eurovision 2009: The Return with the song Amante De La Luna
