German string quartet founded in 1974 at the Frankfurt's Academy of Music and Perfoming Arts, Germany.Since 1984, the quartet has its own concert cycles in Frankfurt am Main, performing for instance all the Reger and Schönberg quartets and all the Mozart quintets.
In January 2005, they began a four-year cycle to perform all 69 string quartets by Joseph Haydn.
