Kharalambos Vassiliades (nicknamed Τσάντας (Τσάντας = Bag)) was a Greek rebetiko/laïkó lyricist, and translator. Born in 1907 (or in 1902) in Erenköy, Ottoman Empire - Died on May, 16, 1970 in Nea Philadelphia, Athens, Greece.He could fluently speak English, French, German & Italian. He was an official translator and, for a time, worked in the Ministry of Navy. His first official appearance in the discography, according to the disc labels, was recorded in December 1946 with "Δυο Καρπούζια Σ' Ένα Χέρι" (Columbia DG 6620) to music by Στελλάκης Περπινιάδης. But Vassiliadis had already distinguished himself pre-war for his lyrical skill. A great success of Ιωάννα Γεωργακοπούλου, "Ιωάννα Γεωργακοπούλου, Στέλιος Κερομύτης - Μπρος Στον Άγιο Σπυρίδωνα / Μπαμπέσικα Μου Τα 'Φερες" as it has now been revealed, bears his signature.
In 1942, he became brother-in-law to Γεώργιος Παπαδόπουλος when the latter married his sister Νίκη (Nike), with whom they had two children and whom he later divorced.
