Kostas Virvos was a Greek lyricist mainly, composer, and author. Born March 29, 1926 in Trikala, Greece - Died August 6, 2015 in Paleo Faliro, Piraeus, Greece.
He was one of the most important Greek lyricists. He wrote more than 2.000 songs of rebetiko, laïkó, éntekhno, & folk (dimotikó) styles with social and political, direct or indirect, content. In 1964, he was exclusively contracted by Μίνως Μάτσας & Υιός Α.Ε.
In 1992, he was honored by the mayor of Trikala, by giving him the city's Gold Medal. At the same time, the street, where his father's house was located, was renamed after him.
