Hungarian soprano, Ingrid Kertesi, studied at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, particularly with Erika Sziklay, and received in 1985 a scholarship for further training in Bayreuth.

Since 1985 she has been a member of the National Opera Budapest, where she made her debut as Page Oscar in Verdi’s Ballo in maschera. From 1988 to 1990 she belonged to the ensemble of the Comic Opera in Berlin. In 1987 she made guest appearance at the Vienna State Opera as Olympia in Hoffmanns Erzählungen.
