German conductor and composer of popular dance music, military marches, piano pieces and arrangements, a.k.a. the Hamburg Waltz King or the German Strauss.
Fétras wrote over 200 compositions, many in the style of his idol, Johann Strauss Jr.. His best known work is his waltz "Mondnacht auf der Alster" (op. 60), which is still immensely popular.
