Northling - nu-jazz / electronic music band from Manchester, UK

Nôrthling began as an improvisational Band in 2017, but quickly began to find their place in the jazz and nu-jazz arenas when they won sponsorship from the Arts Council England in 2018. Tasked with developing an album, they spent the next year crafting a body of work, which they would take forward to perform using a deft combination of traditional instruments, effects and synthesisers.

Nôrthling’s “emotive, slow burning and gripping” music is arrived at from a diverse range of musical influences, creating a sound that is unique. Recently Nôrthling added bassist Ally Brown to their roster, and continue to write & record original material and self-produced dance remixes under the Sôundsystem alias.
