The ensemble was founded in 1967. They performed in all the countries of Europe and both Americas. A large part of their enormous repertoire has been recorded on 30 albums released by such companies as Sonoton Pro Viva, Accord, Tudor, Pro Viva, Olimpia, Col Legno, Polskie Nagrania, Tonpress, Veriton, Acte Préalable. The quartet cooperated with the most outstanding musicians of the world, for example: G. Kremer, G. Żyslin, D. Sitkowiecki, B. Dawidowicz, A. Schiffe, R. Gothoni, S. Esztényi, E. Gajewska, J. Olejniczak, W. Kłosiewicz, A. Makowicz, S. Kamasa, T. Strahl and others. The members of the ensemble are lecturers at music universities, where they rum instrumental and chamber master classes
