哀艷 AI-Yan was forged in the neon lit cities of Taichung (臺中）& Kaohsiung (高雄市） in Taiwan (台灣). Ai-Yan is a mix of Atmospheric, Melodic, Depressing and a pinch of Traditional 80-90s black metal. We pull influences from bands like sadness, Drowning the Light, Woods of desolation, Life, furthermore Zhang Wu-fei (張五飛) and "J" have their own influences.

The name 哀艷 Ai-Yan was chosen for its uniqueness it was used in ancient Chinese poetry to express "melancholic sorrow"
