Heinrich Schäffer
Real name: Heinrich Schäffer
German composer and musician, born 20 February 1808 in Kassel, died 28 November 1874 in Hamburg.He lived as a tenor in Magdeburg and Hamburg. In addition to creation of orchestra and chamber music works, he is best-known for composing vocal music (male choirs and songs).
His best-known composition is "Die Post im Walde" (a.k.a. The Postilion's Horn in the Forest), a solo piece for trumpet or cornet.
