Sean Carney

Bassist, singer, saxophonist, synthesist, songwriter, audio engineer, concert promoter, director, producer and graphic artist in Los Angeles (born 3 November 1971 in Erie, Pennsylvania).

Starting as editor, writer, designer and publisher at U.S. Rocker, an influential Northeast Ohio underground music magazine in the 1990s, Carney used his music scene connections to co-found Invisible City Studios in Cleveland (with Mike Shumaker). Over 400 sessions were recorded there with Carney assistant engineering, engineering or producing all of them. Notable collaborators include The Conservatives, Proletarian Art Threat, (aka Chargers Street Gang), 9 Shocks Terror, Motörhead U.S.A., Sheilbound and Gordon Solie Motherfuckers—even designing the album covers for the last two.

Carney is known as the bassist of hardcore synth band Razak Solar System, indie progsters The Divine Invasion, and was a singer/multi-instrumentalist in the noisy experimental combo, Sean And Ian.

Carney relocated to Southern California in 2002 and became known as “Sean Carnage”—continuing his involvement in the music scene at a larger scale with enhanced notoriety.
