Indonesian artist, born in Batavia (current Jakarta) on October 22, 1919. During the 1930s he started his musical career in the former Dutch East Indies as a guitar player (later Hawaiian guitar player). In 1960 he moved to Holland, where he was contacted by Bill Buysman to join the band The Kilima Hawaiians. He was a member for only a brief period then, from October 1960 to June 1961. In 1967 however he rejoined the band. This time replacing member Frans van Oirschot.
