Lotech/Hijack is a Canadian dub techno and ambient producer, located in Kitchener, Ontario. Musically shaped as a child by
soundtracks to sci-fi movies and 70's television oddities such as "In Search Of..." and Doctor Who, he found his way towards
early rave and chill out/ambient sounds in the late 80's and early 90's. Spending the late 90's and early 00's as a DJ (under a
different moniker) playing hard techno from the likes of Surgeon, T-1000, Joel Mull, etc. He made his way through the various
sounds of techno that seemed to soften along the way. Other genres such as post-punk/post-rock, folk, experimental music etc.
adding to his musical palette, he draws on a wide range of inspiration. With a focus on the deeper aspects of dub techno, Lotech/Hijack
infuses ambient soundscapes and themes that are not necessarily aimed at the dancefloor. A stripped back and simpler sound.
Something for the headphone traveller or the bedroom floor lounger, looking for sonic escapism.
