Real name: Joseph Finney

Chick Finney was a St. Louis, Missouri native. He was a band leader, pianist, composer, arranger and newspaper columnist. Eventually, Chick would move to the business side by becoming General Manager of the St. Louis black owned advertising and public relations firm Chick Finney Associates. He was active in volunteer service in Civic, Religious, Social and community affairs. Mr. Finney died December 11, 1975 at the age of 64.
