THD started around 2006 as a North Carolina-based trio consisting of Neil Vendrick, Roxann Spikula, and Rachal Spikula. One album, Blastula, was released with this line-up in tow. In January 2008, THD expanded into a collective with Vendrick joined by Nate Rulli (Abandon Ship Records founder), Paul Haney (Obsolete Units founder, Rust Worship), Andrew Posey, and Mick Meszaros. The group continues with variations of this line-up and has also been joined on occasion by members of Slasher Risk, TwistyCat, Wet Cement, and Grasshopper.
