Luis Enrique Martínez Argote. Colombian composer, accordionist and performer of vallenato music. Known as the "Pollo Vallenato". He was born in Hatico, Fonseca, La Guajira, Colombia on February 24, 1922. At the age of 71, he died on Saturday, March 25, 1995 at a clinic in Santa Marta.
He was forged as a professional in 1947 and in 1948 he made his first recording including songs like “Seis Días De La Semana” and “Recuerdos De Emilianito”. This work was welcomed and from then on everything was easy for the singer-songwriter, who later had to alternate with other artists such as Abel Antonio Villa, Emiliano Zuleta “El Viejo”, Pacho Rada, Alejandro Durán and Alfredo Gutiérrez.
