Conjunto América

Members: José María De Hoyos, Elvira Tamasi

Do not confuse with Mexican group El Conjunto America.

Conjunto América was formed in the early 1940s by José María De Hoyos and Elvira Tamasi, with Julio Arce, Luis Moreno Ernesto Balboa, Néstor Sicardi.

They toured and recorded mainly in Central America, and met huge success in Colombia. Julio César Navarro and Angel Linares joined after Elvirita Tamasi death (mid to late 1950s?) and soon after the group seem to have ceased activities.
