Polish conductor Grzegorz Nowak (born 15 August 1951 in Poznań) has served as musical director of the Polish National Opera, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and the SWR Radio Orchestra in Kaiserslautern, Germany, besides others. He also is the Permanent Associate Conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) in London, promoted to this position in January 2015 after serving as the Orchestra’s Principal Associate Conductor for seven years. He has performed alongside some of the most widely respected soloists, including Martha Argerich, Yefim Bronfman, Nigel Kennedy, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Mstislav Rostropovich, Gil Shaham and Krystian Zimerman, and has worked with such singers as Janet Baker, Kathleen Battle, Marilyn Horne, Gwyneth Jones, Sherrill Milnes and Anja Silja.
