Luke The Drifter

Real name: Hiram King Williams

Effective period / Period of releases: 1950 - 1959

Alias used by Hank Williams for a number of early-to-mid 1950s records of narration / recitation songs usually backed with just organ and steel guitar. It was never a secret that Williams was Luke The Drifter, but was a way to differentiate this work from the material which he released under his own name.
