Karl Renner
Austrian chancellor and president, born 14 December 1870 in Unter-Tannowitz, Austria-Hungary (now Dolní Dunajovice, Czech Republic); died 31 December 1950 in Vienna, Austria. He wrote the lyrics to "Deutschösterreich, du herrliches Land", which became the unofficial national anthem (1920–29) of the first Austrian Republic.
