Filipe Mendes born in Lisbon, Portugal (10th November 1947). Filipe Mendes was a pioneer of psychedelic rock known in the late sixties as the Portuguese Jimi Hendrix. Adopting the Phil Mendrix monicker he was indeed a genius guitarist who, in addition to Chinchilas, founded Roxigénio and other important grups, besides founding the time and the energy to play on his later days with Manuel João Vieira projects: Irmãos Catita and Ena Pá 2000. Filipe Mendes died in Lisbon Portugal (13th August 2018).
