Romanian composer, conductor, band leader
1962-1965 - attended the Music School in Cluj-Napoca and
1974-1977 - attended the Conservatory "Ciprian Porumbescu'' in Bucharest
Since 1962, Wilmany played in different jazz and pop music bands.
1965-1968 - conductor at the Palace of Culture in Cluj Napoca
Since 1974 was part of romanian ensemble Ansamblul „Rapsodia Română”
Since 1982 he and his band participates in important national festivals.
1988 - becamemember of the Union of Romanian Composers and Musicologists
As composer, Alexandru Wilmany become famous with songs interpreted by Mihaela Runceanu - De-ar fi să vii (1986), Cineva te iubește (1986), Cât aș fi vrut să te chem (1988) and Elena Cârstea (Oamenii mării – 1987) who was lead singer in Formația Alexandru Wilmany (Wilmany's band) between 1982-1986.
He retired in Recea Cristur commune in Cluj County.
