Quetzal were a band from Antwerp (Belgium) and named after a rare bird species from Guatemala which is said to die fast in captivity. In 1998 they released their debut album 'The Messenger Lies Bleeding...' on Conspiracy Records (2). After touring Europe profusely, they delivered 'Dead End Tracks', their second and final album in 2001 before splitting up in 2003. Most members went on to form the band In-Kata.
