Dongó Együttes

Members: Romanovits István, Korponai Tibor, Balázsi Gyula, Jónás Tibor, Cseke Zoltán, Martinovszki István, Kazár Pál

Our group of five, basically the mandolin, violin, recorder, accordion, oboe, bass guitar and percussion sound, and features polyphonic vocal sound. The songs partly inspired by folk music. The Ensemble was founded in October 1976 in Nyíregyháza.

Founding members: Gyula Balázs, Paul Valentine, Stephen Martinovszky.

Our endeavors include the following achievements and recognitions hallmarks:

1982
Székesfehérvár National Meeting 2nd place team at the time

1985
Debrecen Peace Song contest has included the top 12th Album Recorded in "Melody for Peace" is where we part with two songs, including songs of Miklos Varga. Based on this result we were invited to the 1986 international festival held in Sochi. This year we received the ORI professional artistic license.

1985-1990
We have received the Outstanding Ensemble address and Culture Honourable Mention diplomas .

1991
Malév International Folk Festival.

The next time we were presented with four different programs for primary and secondary school students, commissioned by the Philharmonic.

1996
At the Diósgyőr Kalaka Festival we won a combined special award Kaláka as the best band

2001
This year, another three albums appeared on the Periferic Records in Budapest. Local radio and television stations broadcast us in the Hungarian Radio and the Hungarian Television (Sun Island), and RTL Klub (Kid's Club) shows as well.
