In Front Of Their Eyes is a live sound installation for a set of binaural microphones, a drum and a performer.

The phantom of a human head with binaural microphones is placed inside the drum and the sound received by it is transmitted to the headphone sets for the participants located in a dark or dim room.

Installation participants hear acoustic sound as if they themselves were located inside the instrument, i.e. in auditory conditions which are never accessible for them.

The installation is meant to come close to the reception of sound peculiar to humans, revealing at the same time a new sound content arising from a fundamental reinterpretation of a musical instrument, i.e. of what is socially established and considered immutable.
