Capitão Furtado was the nickname of Ariowaldo Pires, a broadcaster and a great supporter of "música caipira" in the mid 20th century, to whom this album is dedicated to. He was Cornélio Pires's nephew, also a pioneer of caipira folk music in the 40s.Mid 1990s reissue, originally released in 1987.
