Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 1980

Label: Gloria Disc

All tracks are previously released songs, re-recorded with new Arabic lyrics. The story goes that Egypt's foreign ambassador in Israel, who was newly stationed there after the peace agreement of 1979, heard Ahuva sing and loved her music. The ambassador wanted Ahuva to produce an album in Arabic, to be sold in Egypt, and to have Ahuva give concerts there. While the album was made, the ambassador was called back to Egypt shortly after, and the idea for concerts fell apart.

Original Versions:
A1: ספינת האהבה from "Paradise Dreams" (1976)
A2: לאן אלך from "Where Is The Soldier" (1975)
A3: היכן החייל from "Where Is The Soldier" (1975)
A4: מחר אזיל דמעה from "Where Is The Soldier" (1975)
B1: ילדה קטנה במזח from "Little Girl On The Pier" (1975)

B3: עמק הפרחים from "Where Is The Soldier" (1975)
B4: עם כוכב וסהר from "Autumn Wind" (1979)

Track B4 is recorded right over the instrumental of the original track, while the rest are completely new arrangements.

Liner Notes:
Four years ago, the Yemenite spiritual singer, Ahuva Ozeri, made her first "long-play" record. Most of her admirers looked upon her as a temporary episode. However, things went differently. She made five more records, which became "best-sellers". She wrote the words by herself and sang them. The music was played with the special Indian instrument named "BULBUL-TARA". Ahuva Ozeri is the only Israeli girl who plays this rare and unique instrument. It shakes the hearts and combines the western with the oriental sounds, into an unique new oriental style. Many of Ahuva's enthusiasts can determine, that her record won't be less successful than her previous five, and that it will again break hearts and talk to spirit and body. Therefore, we wish Ahuva, the beloved singer, to continue and amuse us, and to go on producing more records.
