Trick or Treat was released with unseemly haste after its performance at Hampshire Jam 8 in 2009. It was Halloween, so the stage was decorated for the occasion. The hour long track takes in a number of moods, and is perhaps the most varied recording that Airsculpture have released. There's some short moments of dark abstraction - it is Halloween! - and there is some extraordinary delicate melodic sequencing; some of it might be Berlin music but a few decades later than the usual roots! But along side this is some of the most powerful sequencer music you'll ever hear, generated by the usual eclectic mix of hardware and software including some mighty modulars!
Why all the live albums? Good question, thanks for asking. It just works out that way; we make an effort to record all performances and rehearsals with as much fidelity as possible. Because everything is improvised any of these recordings could be the ones we want to release; but something about the live environment, interacting with the audience, and the need to get it right on the night with no retakes seems to bring out our best.
