Sleeve notes state:
ALAN RHODES. Born Rochdale, Sydney, 1928. Alan began his drumming career while still at school, and played with various big bands in Melbourne.
In 1950, Bob "King" Crawford joined the outfit as vocalist, and the band took up residence at the "Jump Club." At this time they made their first Planet records on 78's with such titles as "Bumble Boogie," "Moonglow," "Blue Moon," etc., which has since been re-released on 45 r.p.m.
He became a name drummer through a series of Jazz concerts called, "Make Way For The Bands," and is rated as one of the finest rhythm drummers in the profession.
