10 Yr. Anniversary Special Edition of Parrot Flies. This vinyl is the last of the final Hot Green pressing we had hanging around when we closed up shop. They apartment hopped for a couple years after that, always aware they could be used for something, and then landed in the basement of legendary Philadelphia DIY venue (and batting cages) Everybody Hits where they sat for another half decade or so aging in the dank century old cellar just as many of us in the Philly DIY music scene had. Seasoned by the rumblings of 1000’s of bands shaking the massive warehouse above them at least 3 nights a week for what get like a lifetime.

But, as was the case for AC, all good things must come to an end. When Everybody Hits was forced to roll down its metal gates for the final time the records still sat down in the basement along with anything the bands that practiced there decided they no longer needed. It was only by chance that I got a call a few months later saying that some friends gained access to the building to rummage through anything that was left inside. Among those items was this box of 60 vinyls in their original sleeves. They were rescued and cleaned; finally their day had come to be useful. Adorned with a risograph print of the cover art and a zine comprised of a long lost interview prank we played on a local university music magazine, you can now own this relic of Philadelphia DIY punk and let it gather dust in your own basement.

No promise on the overall audio quality of these records but the ones we tested played pretty well. We didn’t wanna release these gems into the world just so some vinyl nerds could get their rocks of—half the proceeds from this special edition will go directly to Philadelphia Community Bail Fund to reunite youths held in jail with their families. Please do not buy this record if you intend to turn around and sell it. Leave it for the true fans. And If you do find yourself selling it we ask that you donate any profit as well. Second buyers use due diligence.
