Title shown on screen as "Amy Grant: An Old Fashioned Christmas."

Songs are interspersed in a fictional story in which Amy and her then-husband, Gary Chapman, get stranded in Montana and meet a young girl (Kaleena Kiff), her dad (Dennis Weaver), and an antique shop owner (Ed Begley, Jr.). Art Garfunkel and Jimmy Webb also appear as themselves at a concert Amy performs with the town's choir.

Find a Way, Emmanuel, and Love of Another Kind were recorded live in concert in Montana, the final stop of a concert tour; Love of Another Kind is an excerpt, consisting of only the final chorus and outro. Words From an Old Spanish Carol and Carol of the Birds are performed together as one piece.

Writing for tracks 8 and 9 is credited to "Public Domain."
