Cerebral is a fresh album by Andrey Kiritchenko, electronic musician, sound designer and director of the Next Sound festival. The new release is intended to touch upon thoughts about the inner content of the personality; it is an endless fractal, the progression of which develops within, as more and more deep search for oneself. If you want to understand recursion, you must first understand recursion. Likewise, this album results in sounds that the album itself hastily generated layer by layer. Musical forms of Cerebral, as well as in a significant number of other Andrey's releases, are discrete, they set a sequence of signals reminiscent of the language of a mechanism, a machine. It feels freedom from extraneous design, realizes its own miraculousness, but, at the same time, breaks through to meet the unknown. The album is cinematic, with some of the tracks catching script development. Tonalities do not try to be assertive, but, on the contrary, are buried in meaningfulness. A scattering of clustered sound textures comes to life in difficult to comprehend emotions. There is no predictable anger, languid sadness or ringing joy, we hear a peaceful, but flexible, uneven sensory state built on research. Unwavering commitment to individual style does not allow confusing the handwriting of Andrey Kiritchenko's forms within Cerebral.
