"Shift Into Warp Speed"
The theme of this record is about diving deeper into the mystery of life, even as everything speeds up & gets more intense. Specifically, it is about the state of hypnotic enchantment I feel in this era of accelerated change: overloaded on every level, while time appears to move at an increasingly faster rate. I never imagined the pace of my life would feel this nonstop, but my natural reaction is to hurl myself full throttle towards the future, devouring each moment as if it is a piece of perfect fruit. And this phase of existence feels like a trance; zooming forward into the unknown. Vava Voooooooom...

I have compiled ten songs created over the last year (with a few updated songs from my past) that personify various moods, themes, and styles. I didn't want to make a "dubstep" record or even "dance music" record. Instead I just wanted to make "bass music" and allow each song to be a unique adventure. I included a few outtakes at the end, which are all kinds of whimsical unfinished concepts from my past, or little random glimpses into my studio from over the years. The first one (The Trance of Dreams) is a clip from my high school death metal band, some-thing I wrote when I was 16, the lyrics are:

i silently submit,
now enveloped in my imagination.
darkness swallows my thoughts
but is replaced by visions.
i exist alone, still...in this forgotten dream.

This music is a reflection of what I experience in life.
