This free release for Bandcamp compiles a few excerpts from a 52 minutes live performance by Batchas which took place in Nevers FR, for the Festival de Musiques Ultimes - Mai 14, 1995.For the occasion Batchas invited a few friends to play with me on stage. Ro-G (synths, turntable, oscilloscope visuals), Roland (gongs, percus), Bernd (violin, bells, effects), Étienne (cello, effects).
These recordings are taken from the stage mixer directly, so we don’t hear what we can hear on the LP record released in 1995 on Noise Museum label.
On the vinyl, Batchas and the label decided to use the output of the theatre’s room mixer, cause the concert atmosphere and the acoustic instruments were heard somehow in a better way.
On this stage mixer version, the electronic devices are louder and the instruments picked by the different mics are less audible. Nevertheless, while Batchas was recently listening to old DAT masters, this one brought him back some very good memories. So Batchas decided he should share it.
