Brussels’ trio bepotel comes forward with a new hidden tracks tape release, the second of its kind. It’s comprised of 18 tracks made over the course of seven years, be it by a single bepotel member, as a duo or by all three of them. Although the music they produce under their solo aliases (Sagat, &apos and Walrus) differs, what you hear on this tape characterizes the distinct bepotel sound. Covering a wide spectrum of sounds and styles yet always with that peculiar off kilter feel to it.
All tracks are carefully put together to form a coherent listening piece, consisting of bubbly melodies, deranged ambient, loopy mesmerizing rhythms and far out sample chops. Gaze along with the continuous haze whilst tension never fails to remain present. Expect 50 minutes of Lo-Fi electronics, subtly hinting to the Detroit era, whilst keeping a slit open for modern day adventurism.
