A limited edition, premiere 4-CD box set issue in the "Special Release Series" from Masters Film Music, incorporating the contents of four separate, previously released LP's from Decca Records, all performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and National Philharmonic Orchestra (Specific recording credits as to which orchestra performed on which selections are not included in the packaging!), and conducted by the composer. The packaging features a deluxe fifty-two page booklet with detailed liner notes by Robert Townson, Kevin Mulhall and Steven C. Smith, as well as numerous photos from many of the represented films, reproductions of the composer's original manuscript copies for many of the represented selections, track and technical information, and a detailed composer filmography on the interior pages; as well as color front and back covers, each featuring a photo of the composer. The booklet and clamshell jewel box are housed within a cardboard slipcase, which features a reproduction of a painting by Bob Peak (2) on the front, and both track and technical information on the rear. (The artwork for the front and rear of the clamshell box matches that of the slipcase.)The additional, sequential catalog numbers for Masters Film Music as indicated on the CD labels have been added to the Label/Catalog section as per [g4.7.2.] & [g4.7.6.]
